wikipedia:RAID is a data storage technology that combines multiple physical disk drive components into one or more logical units for the purposes of data redundancy, performance improvement, or both.

  • RAID 0: striping
  • RAID 1: Mirroring
  • RAID 5 (1986). Min 3 disks.
  • RAID 6, two parity blocks
  • RAID 10 (RAID 1+0). Min 4 disks.
  • RAID 50 (RAID 5+0). Min 6 disks.
  • RAID 60
