Normal, prediabetic, and diabetic range[edit]

The 2010 American Diabetes Association Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes added the HbA1c ≥ 48 mmol/mol (≥6.5 DCCT %) as another criterion for the diagnosis of diabetes.[1]

< 5.7% Normal
5.7–6.4% Prediabetes
> 6.4% Diabetes
