Arp (command)

arp command displays or modify IP to MAC translation table used by the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP)

Linux commands

• View ARP Cache:
  • arp -a
  • arp -an (Linux, MacOS)
  • cat /proc/net/arp
• Delete an ARP entry:
  • arp -d 192.168.0.1
• Set ARP entry:
  • arp -s address hw_addr

Windows commands

• Clear ARP Cache:
  • arp -d

Cisco IOS

• show arp
• show mac-address-table
