acct
acct package allows to activate process accounting in Linux. Installing acct package in Ubuntu activates accounting by default.
- Configuration file:
/etc/default/acct - Logs file:
/var/log/account/pacct

accton onand deactivate it by executingaccton offand check statusservice acct status
