sam init command creates an application with sample code, unit tests, and the SAM template itself. It also allows you to initialize SAM applications using a custom structure so you can standardize them across teams and organizations.[1]
sam init SAM CLI now collects telemetry to better understand customer needs. You can OPT OUT and disable telemetry collection by setting the environment variable SAM_CLI_TELEMETRY=0 in your shell.
